It was supposed to be a peaceful afternoon in the quiet jungle clearing. The troop of monkeys played together on the riverbank, jumping from tree to tree while the younger ones chased each other happily. Among them was a tiny baby monkey named Sunggu, known for being brave, curious, and always full of energy.
But on this particular day, Sunggu wandered a little too close to the edge of the river. The ground was slippery from the morning rain, and as the other monkeys played, no one noticed how dangerously close the little one had gotten. Sunggu reached out to grab a floating leaf, thinking it was a toy. In a split second, his small hands slipped, and he lost his balance.
Sunggu fell into the water with a splash. Startled and confused, he tried to swim, but the water was deeper than he expected. His tiny body bobbed up and down, struggling to stay above the surface. The river, calm just moments before, suddenly became a frightening place for the little monkey.
The adult monkeys heard the splash and immediately rushed toward the riverbank. Their cries filled the air as they desperately searched for a way to reach him. One of the larger monkeys leaped into the water without hesitation, paddling as fast as he could toward the struggling baby.
Within seconds—but feeling like forever—he reached Sunggu and pulled him safely out of the water. The troop gathered around, making soft, comforting sounds as Sunggu slowly calmed down. Though shaken, he was safe.
